We are in-network with nearly all insurance companies!
OPTION 1: INSURANCE COVERAGE
Our IBCLCs are in-network with most insurance plans through our billing partner, MilkGuide. They handle the paperwork and bill your insurance. Coverage varies: some plans allow for 3-6 lactation visits, others allow unlimited lactation visits at no/low-cost to you. Your IBCLC will email you the insurance forms to complete, and you’ll receive confirmation. A travel fee may apply for home visits and isn't covered by insurance. Have questions? Email us. STEP 2: Fill out the insurance and consent forms sent to you as soon as you schedule.
STEP 3: You and your IBCLC will receive an email confirming your insurance coverage, usually within 24 hours.
STEP 4: If do not receive insurance benefits or have surpassed the number of allowable visits, see Option 2: Out Of Pocket Fees below.

OPTION 2: OUT-OF-POCKET FEES & REIMBURSEMENT
If your plan is not covered by Option 1 or you do not have insurance, you may be able to get partial or full reimbursement of your lactation consultation fees by submitting receipts to your insurance company. Reimbursement is not guaranteed in these cases. We will give you the forms necessary to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement of the cost of the consult.
An order is not needed for our office, though you will want one in order to file with your insurance. Usually, the order is obtained from baby's care provider or your OB/Midwife and is for the lactating parent.
You will have a higher likelihood of reimbursement if you call your insurance company ahead of time to request a "Gap Exception" for the specific IBCLC that you are scheduled to see. Use the form below to guide you; your insurance company will ask for a variety of codes which are on that form. After the consultation we will give you the proper forms and receipts you will need to submit for possible reimbursement.
